About the EziBuy Gift Card

Give the perfect gift with an EziBuy gift card redeemable on fashion, homeware and other merchandise sold by EziBuy.

A gift card is a plastic card or e-card pre-purchased from EziBuy for any amount between $10 and $300. Gift cards can be purchased and are redeemable either online, via any EziBuy retail store (excluding outlet stores), or through our contact centre.
Please note:
  • A gift card is not returnable or redeemable for cash and cannot be used towards the purchase of another gift card.
  • A gift card expires 12 months from the day of purchase or, if later, its activation or last top up. Any unused balance remaining on the gift card at expiry will not be refunded or credited.
  • A gift card cannot be replaced and EziBuy shall not be responsible for any gift card that may be lost, stolen or damaged.
  • A gift card purchased in New Zealand (or through the New Zealand website or contact centre) is valid only in New Zealand.

Delivery and Activation

Plastic gift cards purchased online or through our contact centre will be sent to the address indicated by you. The address must be in New Zealand. For security purposes, if you purchase more than one card at the same time, each card will be sent in a separate parcel. The delivery charge for plastic gift cards is $2.50 per card.

Delivery of plastic gift cards will usually take between 5 -10 working days. E-gift cards will be emailed to the recipient email address nominated by you on the delivery date you specify during the purchase process, such delivery date to be no more than 30 days following purchase. E-gift cards cannot be delivered on the same day as purchase - delivery is available only from the following day after purchase.

Plastic gift cards will be activated on the day of purchase.  E-gift cards will be activated on the valid delivery date you specify during the purchase process.


Gift Card Balance and other Enquiries

You can check your gift card balance, expiry date and transaction history online by clicking on the link online at www.ezibuy.co.nz.

You can also check your gift card balance by ringing 0508 500 500, visiting one of our retail stores or via SMS. To check by SMS just TXT your 16 digit card number (exclude any spaces/hyphens) followed by a space and your 4 digit access number to 4111. TXT enquiries will incur a charge of $0.50.

What are the minimum and maximum values for a gift card?
The minimum value is $10 and the maximum value is $300. Within these limits, you can choose any value.

What is the difference between a gift card and an e-gift card?
A standard gift card is a plastic card which looks similar to a credit or debit card. An e-gift card is an email voucher which contains the gift card number and access code needed to redeem its dollar value for EziBuy products. An e-gift card is the perfect ‘last minute’ gift because you don’t need to worry about delays in delivery times.  An e-gift card can be emailed to you or the nominated recipient at the time of purchase or, alternatively, you can specify during the purchase process the date (being no more than 30 days following the date of purchase) that the email should be sent.

How is a gift card delivered?
If you purchase a plastic gift card online or through our contact centre, the card will be sent by Courier Post (with signature required) to you or any other person at the address indicated by you. The address must be in New Zealand, and cannot be a Post Office Box. For security purposes, if you purchase more than one card at the same time, each card will be sent in a separate parcel. Delivery will usually take between 5 and 10 working days.

E-gift cards will be emailed on the date of purchase or on a later date you specify during the purchase process (which must be no later than 30 days following the date of purchase).  You will be charged for the e-gift card at the time of purchase, even when a later date for delivery is specified. 

Is there a delivery charge?
A delivery charge of $2.50 per card applies for plastic gift cards. There is no delivery charge for e gift cards sent by email. 

How can I pay for my gift card?
How you pay for your gift card depends on where you purchase it. Online, you must pay for your gift card by credit card. Through our contact centre, you can use a credit card or debit card as payment. At our retail stores, you can use a credit card, debit card or cash. You will not be able to use cheques or another gift card.

Can I give my gift card to someone else?
You can use your gift card yourself, or give it to someone else. The EziBuy gift card is an ideal gift for any occasion.

If you purchase your gift card online or through our contact centre, you can arrange for the card to be sent directly to another person.

Can gift cards be purchased outside New Zealand?
Yes. International customers, other than Australian customers, may purchase New Zealand gift cards, provided they are delivered to a New Zealand address. Australian customers will be able to purchase Australian gift cards through our Australian website or contact centre.

Can I purchase a gift card for use in Australia?
No. Australian gift cards can only be purchased by Australian customers in Australia.

If a gift card is delivered as a gift, what will the recipient receive?
A plastic gift card will be delivered with a personalised letter and will require a signature on delivery. An e-gift card will be delivered by email with the design you choose. You can include a personal message with either type of gift card if you wish. The message may be entered online or given to the contact centre operator when ordering the gift card.

Can I include a message with a gift card?
Yes. You can include a message with a gift card purchased online or through our contact centre. The Gift Card Terms and Conditions contain certain requirements as to the contents of messages, and we reserve the right to amend any message which appears to breach them.

Can I use my gift card as soon as I receive it?
Yes. Your plastic gift card will be activated at the time of purchase and your e-gift card will be activated at the time it is emailed to you or the intended recipient.

Where can I use my gift card?
Your gift card is redeemable for merchandise sold by EziBuy and can be used for purchases online, through our contact centre or in our retail stores (excluding outlet stores). However, the card is only valid in New Zealand.

Can I use a gift card and another method of payment to pay for my order?
Yes. If you wish to use your gift card to purchase merchandise at a price exceeding the value remaining on your gift card, you must pay the excess using another payment method. The available payment methods are the same as for purchasing a gift card. If the price is less than the value remaining on your gift card, the balance will remain on your card for use on another occasion (until expiry).

Can I return merchandise purchased using my gift card?
Our usual returns policy will apply to items purchased using your gift card. Please note that, where you have used both a gift card and another payment method in a single transaction, any refund will be applied to the gift card first. For example, if you purchase merchandise for $200, using a $75 gift card and charging the balance to a credit card, and subsequently return merchandise for $100, $75 will be credited back to your gift card and $25 to your credit card. If the merchandise is faulty, we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.

What happens if I tender my gift card for merchandise on back order?
If you tender your gift card to purchase merchandise on back order, payment will be taken from your gift card at the time of purchase, in the same way as a cash payment.

Can I redeem my gift card for cash?
No. Your gift card can only be used for merchandise sold by EziBuy. It is not returnable or redeemable for cash, and cannot be used towards the purchase of another gift card. In addition, gift cards cannot be used as payment on a customer account.

Can I check my gift card balance?
Yes. You can check your gift card balance, expiry date and transaction history. Details on how to do this are set out above.

Can I top up the balance on my gift card?
Yes. You may top up the balance on your gift card through our contact centre or in our retail stores (excluding outlet stores). The minimum value of a top up is $10, and the maximum value of your gift card, following the top up, must not exceed $300. The expiry date of your gift card will then change to the date that is 12 months from the current top up.

How do I pay for a top up on my gift card?
You can top up your gift card using the same payment methods as for purchasing a gift card.

Does my gift card have an expiry date?
Yes. Your gift card expires 12 months from the day of purchase or, if later, its activation or last top up. Any unused balance remaining on your gift card at expiry will not be refunded or credited by us.

What happens if my gift card is lost, stolen or damaged?
Unfortunately, your gift card cannot be replaced, and we are not responsible for any plastic card that is lost, stolen or damaged, or any e-gift card which is deleted or otherwise lost. Similarly, we will not be responsible for unauthorised use of your gift card number. Please take extra care completing delivery address or recipient email address details when ordering your gift card, to ensure a safe delivery.

If you are returning or have returned merchandise originally purchased, wholly or partly, by gift card, and the original gift card is lost or stolen, please contact our contact centre who, after verification of the transaction history and balance of the gift card, will cancel the gift card and issue a new gift card worth the value of your returns.


EziBuy Gift Card Terms and Conditions

 
1 TERMS
You, and any person who holds a Gift Card, agree to be bound by these Terms.

2 PURCHASING A GIFT CARD
  1. You can purchase a Gift Card from one of our EziBuy retail stores, through our contact centre or online.
  2. You must choose the value of your Gift Card at the time of purchase. The minimum value is $10 and the maximum value is $300.
  3. Your Gift Card will be activated at the time of purchase or (if later) the valid delivery date you specified for an e-gift card.
  4. If you purchase a plastic Gift Card online or through our contact centre:
    (a) the card will be sent at your risk by Courier Post (with signature required) to the person at the address in New Zealand indicated by you; and
    (b) details of approximate delivery times, and delivery costs, are specified on our website.
  5. If you purchase an e-gift card online, through our contact centre or retail stores:
    (a) the e-gift card will be emailed at your risk to the recipient email address specified by you during purchase; and
    (b) the e-gift card will be emailed on the date of purchase or on a later date you specify during the purchase process (which must be within 30 days from the date of purchase)
    (c) you will be charged for the gift card at the time of purchase, even when a later date is specified for delivery.
  6. If you purchase more than one Gift Card online or through our contact centre at the same time, each card will be sent separately and will incur a processing charge.
  7. When purchasing a gift card online or through our contact centre, you may specify a message to be included with delivery to the recipient you have nominated. The content of your message must not be unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, libellous, invasive of another's privacy, hateful, or racially, ethnically or otherwise objectionable. Further, you must not impersonate any person or entity in any part of your message. We reserve the right to amend any message which appears to breach any of these requirements.
  8. We cannot accept responsibility for any delay in delivery of e-gift cards as a result of any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission or communications line failure whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs or other causes outside our control.

3 USING YOUR GIFT CARD
  1. Your Gift Card is only redeemable for merchandise sold by EziBuy, and can be used for purchases online, through our contact centre or in our retail stores (excluding outlet stores). Your Gift Card is only valid in New Zealand.
  2. If you wish to use your Gift Card to purchase merchandise at a price exceeding the value remaining on your Gift Card, you must pay the excess using another payment method. If the price is less than the value remaining on your Gift Card, the balance will remain on your Gift Card for use on another occasion (prior to card expiry).
  3. Our usual returns policy will apply to purchases using your Gift Card. Where you have used both a Gift Card and another payment method in a single transaction, any refund will be applied to the Gift Card first. If the merchandise is faulty, we will meet our obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993.
  4. If you tender your Gift Card to purchase merchandise on back order, payment will be taken from your Gift Card at the time of purchase.
  5. You can check your Gift Card balance, expiry date and transaction history online, and your Gift Card balance by phone through our contact centre, instore, or by texting your 16 digit card number followed by a space and your four digit access number to 4111. Text enquiries will incur a charge, as specified on our website.
  6. Your Gift Card is not returnable or redeemable for cash and cannot be used towards the purchase of another Gift Card. In addition, Gift Cards cannot be used as payment on a customer account.

4 TOP UP
  1. Subject to clause 4.2 below, you may top up the balance on your Gift Card at any time online, through our contact centre or in our retail stores (excluding outlet stores).
  2. The minimum value of a top up is $10 and the maximum value of your Gift Card, following the top up, must not exceed $300
  3. Upon topping up your card, the expiry date will change to the date that is 12 months from that top-up date.

5 EXPIRY
  1.  Your plastic Gift Card expires 12 months from the day of purchase or, if later, its activation or last top up.
  2. Any unused balance remaining on your Gift Card at expiry will not be refunded or credited by us.

6 RESPONSIBILITY
You should treat your Gift Card like cash. Your card cannot be replaced, and we shall not be responsible for unauthorised use of your card or for any card that is lost, stolen or damaged.

7 GENERAL TERMS
  1. Privacy: A copy of our privacy policy is available on our website.
  2. Amendments: We may amend these Terms from time to time by updating them on our website.
  3. Force Majeure: We shall not be in breach of these Terms, or otherwise liable to you, for delay in performance or non-performance of our obligations under these Terms due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including, for example, any power shortages or systems failures).
  4. Law: These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with and governed by the laws of New Zealand.

8 DEFINED TERMS AND INTERPRETATION
  1.  In these Terms, the following words have the following special meanings:
    "Gift Card" means a plastic gift card or e-gift card issued by us;
    "online" means online at http://www.ezibuy.co.nz;
    "Terms" means these terms, together with the terms set out on the back of a plastic Gift Card or at the bottom of an e-gift card, as amended from time to time;
    "we", "our", "us" means EziBuy Limited; and
    "you" means the purchaser of the Gift Card and any holder of the Gift Card for the time being.
  2. For convenience, these Terms have been grouped under headings, but the headings do not affect the meaning of these Terms.
